Admission to Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas is primarily for children from rural areas, with at least 75% seats available for rural children. Seats are reserved for children belonging to SC and ST communities in the district in proportion to their population but not less than the national average. 1/3 of the seats are filled by girl students. 3% seats are for children with disabilities.
